Has anyone found a solution for having two base prices at the same time so that customers can place both current and future orders and see the correct pricing dependent on the Start Date of the order (not the Transaction Date)?
We're trying to solve for a planned price increase on our Base Price but customers place orders to ship both today and 6 months from now. We want to capture today's price for orders placed and shipping this week, but also need to capture the future price for orders place this week to ship 6 months from now. Example below:
Order Transaction Date: 5/1/2026
Order Start Date: 5/1/2026>
Current Base Price - $50
Order Transaction Date: 5/1/2026
Order Start Date: 9/1/2026>
Future Base Price - $52.50
Apparently SAP has an Effective Date Pricing module/feature to handle this exact scenario to specifically serve industries where Base Price increases are planned and customers place both current and future orders at the same time. I explored the Effective Date Pricing bundle and plan to install but from what I'm reading I'm not sure it would handle orders being placed now for future Start dates so that the customer can see two prices at once depending on when their order is going to Start shipping.
We have a custom solution in place leveraging Price Levels and a WF/Script that applies the price level based on the order's Start Date but we're looking for a more native solution that impacts the Base Price rather than adding various Price Levels. Ultimately it's the Base Price that is increasing that we then discount where applicable via either a header discount or a Price Level with a % discount on the Base Price.
