Year-Over-Year Date Range Alignment on Income Statement

Question

Hello, I am adjusting an Income Statement report and would like to compare year-over-year periods. Currently, when I select 'Jan 26 – Feb 26,' the prior year column only displays 'Jan 25' instead of the full 'Jan 25 – Feb 25' range.

My goal is for the prior year column to automatically mirror the date range selected in the footer. For example, if I select Jan–Mar 2026, the comparison column should show Jan–Mar 2025. Is this configuration possible? Thank you.

Hello @User_8LGY2 it is currently not possible to automatically pull up last year's numbers for the same period every time you change the period range on a comparative income statement. This is still an enhancement in NetSuite.

As a workaround, you need to customize the report:

* Navigate to Reports > Financial > Comparative Income Statement.
* Click the Customize button.
* On the Financial Report Builder page, click Edit Columns.
* Click the Comparative Amount column under the Report Preview pane so that this becomes highlighted.
* Set Alternate Period Range Type = Relative to today’s date
* Set Alternate Period Range = Custom > Then select or you can multi-select the month/period that you would like to compare it with.
* Click Preview/Save

Unfortunately, you have to do the workaround every time you change the report's current period.

This is indeed currently a system limitation and filled under enhancement 180825 Reports>Financials>Comparative Income Statement : Be able to set Comparison Amount to automatically follow the custom date range entered on the current Amount column, depending on the fiscal year originally selected. You can use above work around.
