New to NetSuite | Creating a Date Field for Tracking Follow-Up Actions
A date field can help users track when a follow-up action should happen. This is useful for reminders, reviews, approvals, customer follow-ups, or internal tasks.
What Is a Date Field?
A date field is a custom field that stores a calendar date.
Examples:
- Follow-Up Date
- Review Date
- Target Completion Date
- Approval Due Date
Why Use It?
A date field can help:
- track upcoming actions
- organize follow-up work
- improve visibility on records
- support reminders and reporting
- reduce missed tasks
Example
A team wants to track when a customer should be contacted again.
They create a custom field called:
Follow-Up Date
Users can then enter the next date the customer should be reviewed or contacted.
