Use Case:
Users may want to store Email Templates in a Custom Record and automatically source the selected template into another transaction record.
This setup allows users to manage reusable email templates centrally and populate them dynamically based on the selected template name.
How It Works:
I. Create a Custom Record for Email Templates
- Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records & Fields > Record Types > New
- Enter the following:
- Name: Enter a name - Click Save & Edit
- Click the Fields tab
- Click New Field
- Enter the following:
- Label: Email Template
- Store Value: Check the box
- Type: Long Text
7. Click Save & New
8. Create another field:
- Label: Email Template Name
- Store Value: Check the box
- Type: Free-Form Text
9. Click Save
II. Create a Transaction Body Field for the Email Template Name
- Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records & Fields > Transaction Body Fields > New
- Enter the following:
- Name: Enter a name
- Store Value: Uncheck
- Type: List/Record
3. Under List/Record: Select the Custom Record created in the previous step
4. Click Save
III. Create the Transaction Body Field for the Email Template Content
- Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records & Fields > Transaction Body Fields > New
- Enter the following:
- Name: Enter a name
- Store Value: Uncheck
- Type: Long Text
3. Click the Sourcing & Filtering tab
4. Set the following:
- Source List: Select the Custom Record created earlier
- Source From: Select the Custom Transaction Body Field created in the previous step
5. Click Save
This setup allows the Email Template content to be automatically sourced into the transaction record based on the selected Email Template Name.
