New to NetSuite | Custom Fields: Maximum Length
Overview
When creating custom text fields in NetSuite, the Maximum Length option controls the maximum number of characters users can enter the field.
This setting is useful for limiting unnecessary or excessive text entry and helping maintain consistent data formatting.
In this article, we will be discussing this setting using Transaction Body Fields.
Scenario
An administrator created a custom text field but wanted to prevent users from entering too many characters.
The administrator decided to limit the field to five characters to keep the data short and consistent.
Set the values on your Custom Field:
