NetSuite Admin Tip | Check Script Audience Before Enabling It
Before enabling a script deployment, review the script audience carefully. A script may be technically correct, but if it is available to the wrong users, roles, departments, subsidiaries, or groups, it may run in scenarios where it was not intended.
Checking the audience before enabling a script helps reduce user disruption and unexpected script behavior.
Scenario
An admin is preparing to enable a SuiteScript deployment.
The script may affect:
- record validation
- field updates
- email notifications
- approval logic
- related record updates
- user-facing messages
If the script audience is too broad, users who should not be affected may trigger the script.
