NetSuite Admin Tip | Check Deployment Status Before Testing Scripts
Before testing a script, confirm that the script deployment is active and configured correctly. A script may be written correctly but still appear not to work if the deployment is inactive, not released, assigned to the wrong record type, or limited to the wrong audience.
Checking deployment status first can save time during troubleshooting.
Scenario
An admin or developer tests a SuiteScript customization, but nothing appears to happen.
Examples may include:
- no field updates
- no validation message
- no email sent
- no record created
- no execution logs
- script logic not triggering
The issue may not be the script code. It may be the script deployment setup.
