Overview
In the current NetSuite interface, developers and administrators may be familiar with appending &xml=t to a record URL to view the XML representation of that record. This can be helpful when reviewing record data that may not be visible directly in the user interface.
In NetSuite Next, this URL parameter does not currently work the same way.
Scenario
A developer or administrator opens a record in NetSuite Next and tries to append the URL with:
&xml=t
In the current interface, this approach may return the XML representation of the record. In NetSuite Next, this behavior is not currently supported.
Current Behavior
At this time, there is no direct replacement in NetSuite Next for the &xml=t URL parameter behavior.
If the XML view is needed for development, troubleshooting, or administrative review, users should be aware that this URL-based method is not available in NetSuite Next.
Recommended Guidance
For users who rely on XML view during development or troubleshooting:
- Confirm whether the task must be performed in NetSuite Next.
- If XML inspection is required, use the currently supported interface or tools available for your account.
- Document the record, role, and use case where XML view is needed.
- Share the limitation with developers, administrators, or internal support teams who commonly use the &xml=t method.
Notes
This is expected behavior based on the current NetSuite Next experience described in the conversation. The &xml=t method is not currently supported in NetSuite Next, and there is no replacement available yet.
Administrators may want to communicate this to users who are testing NetSuite Next, especially developers and power users who depend on record XML views for troubleshooting.
