Overview
The Agent Skill permission controls how users interact with skills in Ask Oracle. This permission applies to Ask Oracle in both NetSuite Next and current NetSuite.
Removing the Agent Skill permission affects only the user’s ability to invoke, view, and create skills in Ask Oracle. It does not affect other generative AI features, SuiteApps, or SuiteScript AI modules, including modules such as N/llm.
What the Agent Skill Permission Controls
Depending on the permission level assigned, users may be able to:
- View the Skills list page.
- Open and review skill details.
- Invoke skills in Ask Oracle using natural language.
- Invoke skills explicitly by entering the skill name.
- Create skills for their own use.
Currently, only users with the Administrator role can create skills that all roles in the account can use.
Skills are designed to be created, managed, and used in NetSuite Next.
When This Permission Is Needed
The Agent Skill permission is relevant when NetSuite Next and Ask Oracle are enabled and users need access to skills.
If NetSuite Next and Ask Oracle are not enabled, this permission is not required.
Notes for Administrators
Administrators should review this permission when managing access to Ask Oracle skills. If a user should not invoke, view, or create skills, remove or reduce the Agent Skill permission as appropriate.
Before changing access, confirm whether the user needs Ask Oracle skill access for daily tasks, testing, or internal enablement. Removing this permission does not restrict other AI-related capabilities outside of Ask Oracle skills.
