This notice applies to Customers using SuitePeople U.S. Payroll with Kentucky Unemployment Tax.
You are receiving this notice because your organization uses SuitePeople Payroll and has a Kentucky unemployment tax account.
What is Changing?
On Monday, August 17, 2026, Kentucky launched the Kentucky Unemployment Insurance Portal (KUIP) to modernize its unemployment insurance system. After this date, employers and third-party administrators must use KUIP for Kentucky unemployment tax activities, including wage filing, payments, and employer account maintenance.
Required Actions
After the KUIP Tax launch on August 17, 2026, complete the following actions:
- Create a KUIP user account and activate your existing employer account. Your existing account will be carried over from the old system to KUIP. Go to Kentucky's Unemployment Insurance Self-Service Web to create your account. You will need your new Kentucky Employment Identification Number (KEIN) and an activation code.
- Set up or reset login credentials and passwords, as needed. If you haven’t received your updated credentials by mail, log in to the Kentucky Unemployment Insurance Self-Service website to view your credentials in a pop-up message. For assistance, contact the Kentucky Office of Unemployment Insurance, Tax Enforcement Branch at +1 502-564-3326.
- Update your Kentucky SUI account number in SuitePeople Payroll with the new nine-digit KEIN. For more information, see Entering Company Information for Payroll.
- In KUIP, activate the Kentucky State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) account, as needed, and confirm that Dayforce is listed as the third-party administrator (TPA). The following are the relevant TPA details:
- TPA Name: CERIDIAN TAX SERVICE INC
- TPA ID: 8073
Important: If you do not complete these actions, you may be unable to access KUIP or allow SuitePeople Payroll to file and pay Kentucky unemployment tax on your behalf.
Dayforce will update its records to accommodate this change as a one-time courtesy for existing accounts. Clients are responsible for ensuring that their records are updated in SuitePeople Payroll.
