Overview
In the current NetSuite interface, users may be familiar with using file drag and drop to quickly attach or upload files. In NetSuite Next, this drag-and-drop file feature is not currently available.
This article helps set expectations for users who are testing or transitioning to NetSuite Next and may be looking for the same file upload behavior.
Current Behavior
When working in NetSuite Next, users should not expect file drag and drop to work the same way as it does in the current NetSuite interface. If a user attempts to drag a file into the page or attachment area and the file is not uploaded, this is expected behavior.
Users should use the available file selection or upload options shown in the NetSuite Next page they are working on.
Recommended Guidance
Administrators and support teams can guide users with the following reminders:
- Use the available upload or file selection button instead of dragging files into the page.
- Confirm that the file is attached or uploaded successfully before saving or submitting the record.
- For users who regularly attach files, include this behavior in NetSuite Next readiness or training materials.
- If a process depends heavily on drag-and-drop uploads, review the workflow before moving that process fully to NetSuite Next.
Notes
This does not prevent users from attaching or uploading files where supported. It only means the drag-and-drop action itself is not currently available in NetSuite Next.
For smoother adoption, administrators may want to notify users before rollout, especially teams that frequently upload supporting documents, images, PDFs, or transaction attachments.
