Available to Promise Feature Not Working with Linked Sales Order - Work Order

Question

Greetings Community, In Sandbox, I’ve enabled Available To Promise Feature.

Now, I’m taking these 2 Assembly BOM Items as an example with Nothing (On Hand, On Order, Committed, Backordered) – basically Fresh Items:

a.	KIT-CARTPL2

Firstly, I created this Unlinked WO # 134862 with Production End Date = 10/5/2026 and it is visible on New SO # 245324.

b.	KIT-EK3435H-TRV-EP

Here I created SO # 245325 and then created Linked WO # 134863 from SO Line Level with Production End Date = 11/16/2026 but cannot see this back on the Sales Order.

All that to say, ATP Feature is working with Unlinked WO - SO, but not working when Linked WO is created from SO Line Level.

Please let us know if there is a NetSuite Fix to this problem.

This is expected behavior, not a NetSuite defect.

A work order created from a Sales Order line is a special-order work order: it is pegged to that specific sales order rather than treated as supply available to promise across demand. Therefore, ATP does not use it in the same way as an unlinked production work order when calculating/displaying availability on the originating SO.

Your results align with this:

* WO #134862 (unlinked): treated as future supply, so ATP can display its Production End Date against SO #245324.
* WO #134863 (linked): reserved for SO #245325, so it is not surfaced as general ATP supply on that same line.

There is no standard NetSuite “fix” to make ATP treat a special-order WO as unlinked supply without changing the fulfilment model. NetSuite documents that linked WOs are specifically intended to track assemblies for a particular sale, whereas production WOs replenish stock. Work order types

If the objective is to show the expected build/ship date to the customer, consider one of these approaches:

Use the linked WO for order-specific production control, and expose/copy its Production End Date to a custom field on the SO line.

Use unlinked production WOs if the business wants ATP to allocate future supply across all orders.

If Supply Allocation is in scope, use its earliest-availability and allocation processes for more dynamic promise-date handling. ATP with Supply Allocation

Also confirm the SO line and linked WO have the same inventory location. A location mismatch can prevent the completed linked WO from committing back to the SO, even after it is built.
