Scripting to Address Fields

Hi - first poster here!

I am looking at trying to script some text into the address fields (Address 1, Address 2, City, etc) using client side script - is this possible? I have end users that are putting in a large no of leads complaining about having to click down to address to insert the address details and have thought of a few methods but can't seem to get anything to script into Address 1 (as an example) even though I'm sure I'm using the correct field id - 'addr1'.

Any help on this would be really well received to stop the nagging in my ear!
