Unable to a create access link to custom record in the Vendor Center

I created a custom record and want to create an access link to that record in the Vendor Center. So, under the Links subtab of the custom record, I choose "Vendor Center". However, the select box for the section is blank. That select box is mandatory, so I can't save it.

If I choose Customer Center, the section select box contains "Home" so I can link to that center. Are we forbidden to add links to custom records in the Vendor Center?
