Attach Media File to Message

Hi,
  I am trying add an attachment to a Customer message.

Only possibility I am able to find for that is to save the message and file individually and then attach them using nlapiAttachRecord.

The problem for this method is that I have to provide the internal Id of record for the PDF file as parameter in nlapiAttachRecord.

I tried different things like 'MEDIAITEM', 'MEDIA', 'FILE', 'PDF'. But its not working for any of these. Can any one provide me the internal id for files.
