Coding - Where to start?

Hi all,

I would like to start "coding" to customize/improve our netsuite instance. I see there are many different platforms/technlogies: SuiteScript, SuiteFlex and I am sure I am forgetting one more.

Can anyone tell me what are each of them and how/when to use each?

Also, could anyone tell me where to start? Is there a tutorial, blog, etc to start digging?
