Creating a list on a subtab

First off I am new to NS for the last 2 months so pardon my probably easy question. I am trying to create a list on a subtab of related records from another record type. I can see how these list items are on our existing forms but do not know where to go to view these fields(?) or how to create new ones. I went to SetUp>Customization>Lists but this is not what I am looking for. What I am trying to create is the same as the Contact list under Relationships on our Customer form, just with different data.
