WOW! Global Search on Custom Item Fields!
One of the best, if not the best, feature in NetSuite is Global Search. I am amazed every day how easy-to-use, how powerful, and how well this works.
IMO, Global Search to NetSuite is as Google search is to the web. It is that powerful.
But, it just got a lot better with Ver 2009.1!
Ver 2009.1 added the feature to search for records based on a custom field on that record. So, we added a custom field "Old Item#" to our Inventory and Assembly Item records. This is the Item# (or SKU) of the Item in the old accounting system. We checked the "Global Search" checkbox on the Item definition page. This allows us to search for Item records using the Old Item#. This alone is really great!
