Communication of Patches - NetSuite broke us last week

edited Dec 13, 2019 11:41PM in General 15 comments

Hi,

I discovered today after several mission critical processes failed over the weekend that NetSuite made an update to the way Saved Search results are created and delivered.

The automatic inclusion of InternalID has been removed.  Although this is, for the most part, a minor change, it had a big impact on our systems.  We have several searches that are created, delivered to end users which they import into databases for analytics and reporting.  These are now failing since the internal id is what is used for joins.

I have asked my platinum rep many times for weekly listings of what changes are being made to the system and have been told they don't exist.  The Thursday patches are very scary.  Changes are made 'in secret' that oftentimes affect critical parts of our system.  No communication is made that I know of that allows me to perform testing to ensure that things have not broken or been changed.

Howdy, Stranger!
