Any way to Select Multiple Records Quickly?

Re: (Bank Reconciliation, Bank Deposits, Bill Payments, etc).

I would like the ability to select a range of items by checking the first check box and then "shift" checking the last check box of the range.

This should be made available any where a list of check boxes need to be selected (Bank Reconciliation, Bank Deposits, Bill Payments, etc).

Note this feature is already available in google gmail for selecting multiple messages.  It should work in the same manner.

Does anyone know how to make this happen?
