Kit items on picking ticket

Good morning. We have a serious defect that Netsuite support is unable to help us with. They claim this behavior is standard and unable to be modified. If this is the case, it is a serious flaw:

The problem is with member items of back ordered kits printing on picking tickets.

Enabling the setup preference printing member items of 'Always Print Kit Items on Picking Tickets' in 'Setup > Accounting > Accounting Preferences > Order Management' will print the member items of a kit on picking tickets.

The problem comes in with printing the pick ticket for an order with a back ordered kit item.
