Help needed: Package Contents

I'm looking for some advice/insight -

For multiple package shipments, we would like to be able to assign the items on the fulfillment to a particular package.  Then we know exactly which items shipped in which box, how much the box should weigh, etc. 

I'm trying to find documentation on what features we might be able to best utilize within NetSuite in order to achieve this functionality. 

Anyone doing such a thing?  How are you doing it?

Any other shipping / fulfillment "best practices"?
