Duplicate Detection for Customers-case sensitive?

Some of our users are wondering why they were allowed to enter duplicate customers into Netsuite. 

Their examples were the same -- except for one slight capitalization difference. 

Example:
Batman of Gotham
Batman Of Gotham

Is NetSuite's Customer Name Duplication Detection code case sensitive?
