Campaign mail attachments. One or thousands?

We send most of our bulk mail through a mailing house.  They do some pretty neat stuff with the fields that we track in Netsuite that we just can't do in-house.

We'd like to track these mail-outs in Netsuite and I think just running a fake mail campaign would do the trick.  If I were to scan in one of the publications and use that as the template, would Netsuite create 10,000 attachments every time we do a mail-out or is it smart enough to realize that every message is the same (no merge fields) and only keep one copy?
