giving away gift certificates
I'd like to give away $50 gift certificates. What I've done before is purchase them thru our website with my credit card and then I go in the backend and void the credit card transaction.
Does this create $50 of income? And then what happens say when $35 of the gift certificate is used?
It was suggested to me to create/use a 100% off discount code, which works, charging $0 and generating a $50 GC, but doing it this way creates a negative $50 to income (I guess because of the discount code). And then what would happen when the GC is used or partially used?
