Sending samples to a LEAD w/out changing stage to Customer
We are launching a new division that will require sending product samples to leads. I would like to do this with a Sales Order and then have it run through our regular fulfillment workflow. However the problem is that when you enter a sales order against a Lead it will convert it to a Customer.
It's desirable to send the samples through a sales order from the lead so you have a record of it, but the fact that it changes it to a customer breaks the lead>customer workflow.
I see two possible alternative methods, both of far inferior for us:
