Java Script Help

Does anyone know a simple way to display the difference between an item's price levels?

We have the Base Price and we added an MSRP.  Both fields are populated and I can get the prices displayed with the strike thru the MSRP price.

But what I want to do is subtract the two and show a $ savings and a % savings...

Simple to do in Excel...just not sure how to implement in my custom item template.
