Main Image not showing on Website

Since the first of this month I have a couple of items on our website that are not showing the first or Main Image thumbnail.

I contacted NS via a case and they said that since the descriptive URL changes made in the latest release, the scripting saves images differently and I have to contact my developer to change the custom scripting for our website to accommodate these changes.

NS, I would like a better answer than this.  We weren't aware of this change, now were we asked about it.  If you are going to force us to incur charges for changes to our system that we didn't ask for, you might at least help us to ask the right questions or attempt to make the simple change of a && to a ? in our coding.
