Set preferred form based on a user's role or sales division?

we have two sides of our business; Retail & Wholesale

Each side has different custom transaction forms.  I would like to show the preferred form for the business division based on the role of the user or if possible some other criteria.

I havn't flushed out the whole plan yet, I just know I would like to show employee x, y and z form a and all other emps. form b.

Anyone done this?  Any ideas?
