Display different field than record ID for list/record

Is there a way for me to do a simple List/Record to a record but have the text in the drop-down list of values display a different field's data than the record ID? I want to provide a more descriptive field as the drop-down.

For example:

Record 'A'  ID Field = unique but cryptic value  MyDesc Field = more descriptive value    Setup:  Type: List/Record  List/Record: Record 'A'    ?? some way to tell it to display MyDesc field rather  than the default ID field.
