change display type of child records

I have a parent/child pair of records.  The parent record displays the children in a "report" (I think it's called) layout.  I remember choosing this display type option somewhere along the way but can't figure it out now.  I'm not using a custom form.

Anyone care to point me to the area where I can modify the display format for child records on a parent?
