Communication: Email on Item Record

I keep a record of items that are currently unavailable at the manufacturer with a "expected to be available again" date.

Then when the time comes for me to check with the manufacturer again to see if this part is now available again, i email them about this part.

It would be nice for completeness to go to an item record and click on the communication tab and create an email to the preferred vendor that is attached to that part and records all the email conversations for that part to the item record.

just like going to a Purchase Order record and sending an email from there to attach emails to the record.
