Sales order item list lookup

Hi,

I need to set up a custom transaction field on a sales order, that needs to look at the item table on the sales order, and if any item listed is marked as being Nail Polish, it sets a checkbox as ticked

I'm guessing this can be done using SQL but i'm not really sure where to start.

Does anyone have any tips or  can you point me in the direction of a good place to find out how to do it.
