Forms only printing Display Name and Not item number

I am sure this must be a setting somewhere but one of my customers, all the default forms are displaying the Display Name only instead of the item/display name.   I went to customize the forms they use (Quote, SO, Invoice) and in the print fields there is no additional field to check to print the item number on the line.  Under General Preferences I do have checked the preference   Show Display Name with Item Codes.
