interest transactions not appearing in reconcile account statement window

I created a custom transaction type called "Interest Receipt" so that I could record interest income received from my bank. Setup was easy, and I entered my first transaction (a whopping fourteen cents). I went to the Reconcile Account Statement window expecting to see my interest transaction there along with other deposits and withdrawals, and it does not appear. I have verified the following: the date of the transaction falls within the reconciliation period; the "G/L Impact" page for my interest transaction does indeed show fourteen cents being debited to my savings account and credited to Interest Income; I looked
