Inventory Items to non-inventory items

To change an “inventory item” status to a “non-inventory item for resale” status, do I have to renter all the item details again but under the “non-inventory…” and then go back and delete what was once an “inventory item”. I just don’t want to do all that work if I can just click to change the items status?
