How to handle free samples in inventory
We receive free samples from vendors at $0.0 cost. When we want to sell sample we need to find way to take it off our sample shelf, enter as an inventory item at 0 cost and sell to customers. Currently we are "buying" sample from dummy company we set up called "sampleco" and entering it into inventory that way. However, we now have Sampleco listed in our Accts payable list showing we must pay for invventory "purchased" from Sampleco. Anyone else have this issue with free samples and how to get into inventory without generating a dummy vendor? Thank you!
