Inactive an item after sold

We are posting some scratch and dent items that show zero inventory in NetSuite but we have one item -- I would like the item to deactivate after a sale is entered. I thought I could accomplish this by a workflow but the "Display on Website" field is not an option.  Any ideas how I can get this item to deactivate ones a sales order is keyed in?
