Product Expiry Date Auto Alert

Hi, anyone ever use the following functions and able to give some advice or comments?
a) Perishable product needs to have Product Expiry Date Auto Alert to the in-charged person, is there anyone handle this situation before in NetSuite?
b) Is the NetSuite able to generate an Inventory Aged Report in Summary and Details? Anyone has used this feature before and able to share?
