We've used real-time rates with some items having a specified box. That has been our setup for years. It has the shortcoming of never knowing when we can slip a small item in with a large item that has a big box. Eg: Item A has a box in NetSuite and item B doesn't have any box.   We can ship item B in the giant box that item A ships in, but we don't want to assign the giant box to item B or it would make it too expensive to ship by itself.
