Is it possible to customise the Task Reminder email

The task reminder email is very limited, contains the name of the task but no link to the task record or details of the transaction or entity it is linked to.

Is there any way to customise this to make it more useful?

If not, how are other users using tasks effectively? Do I need to create a saved search for the user to list their upcoming and over due tasks on their dashboard?
