Item Creation/Change search to exclude Stock change timestamp

Hi, I have a search that returns any item created or modified within the last business week but it is producing too many results.  I have narrowed it down to it picking up the Stock change timestamp field being changed.  Does anyone know a way of excluding these from my search?
