Fir SiteBuilder users, SuitePromotions bundle has never really worked, and eventually the way they deal with promo codes will be removed. I've worked out ways for many of my clients to have much of the same functionality, and was wondering if anyone else has methods that they find useful. Here is what I do.

Create functions that do stuff - add a free item to the cart, change the shipping method, change an item from a regular priced item to the same BOGO item, etc. I've been doing these things for years, even before SiteBuilder Extensions and SuitePromotions came out. I've been asked all kinds of things.
