Sales reporting with Kits

Is it possible to run a sales report that shows the component parts of a kit rather than showing the kit.

I see you can do this for an inventory report but can't see how to do it for a sales report.

So, for example if i have Kit1 which is made up of inventory items ItemA and ItemB when I run a sales by item report I want to see I have sold 1 x ItemA and 1 x ItemB - not 1 x Kit1.
