How to set the value of 'Discount Rate' via workflow

Hey Experts, I have a workflow to set the value of 'Discount Rate' in a sales order based on the value of another transaction body field. It's fine when its a whole number but always throws an error when it's a decimal. I've tried commas and periods. I've tried converting the number into a string. Still errors. It's an after record submit trigger. Any ideas? Cheers!
