Transaction deletion permissions

Hey experts, I set up some custom roles that have the ability to delete certain transactions. A wierd thing that is drving me crazy: when users delete a transaction (item fulfillment for example) an error message comes:

Notice 'You do not have permission to perform this operation'

But the record IS deleted! I tried comparing other roles and can't find any difference. Any ideas?
