Avoid Negative balance in petty cash account

Hello Gurus,

I am facing an issue with the accounting team, they sometimes forget to register the fund journal and then we ended up with Negative balance in the petty cash account. (I hope I explained this correctly!)

Can I setup the system in a way they cannot issue a payment from the cash account unless there is a suffice balance ?

please let me know your thoughts on this.
