MRP errors

edited Jun 2, 2025 2:24PM in Ask A Guru 6 comments

Hello,

We have been using Netsuite's new MRP workbench for about a month and love the new features. However, we've had a few weird issues happening when using the platform. One of those issues is regarding errors that are presented after the MRP job has completed its run. These errors are seemingly random, ranging from 0-210 errors, and can change run to run without changing any item settings or quantity of items in the supply plan. It also is preventing affected items from appearing in the workbench. I've attached a screenshot of this behavior.

When looking into the errors, the message always begins with "A cycle was detected in the Planning Engine while assigning hierarchy levels due to the following Item/Locations" and ends with "This can happen when Planning Rules and Transfer Orders are introduced in Material Requirements Planning."

Howdy, Stranger!
