Is there any correlation between Consolidated Payments and Consolidated Invoicing

Customer needs consolidated invoicing and multi-subsidiary customers. Cannot turn on the multi-subsidiary customers as it says you can't have with consolidated payments. If I turn off consolidated payments and allow the multi-subsidiary customers will that impact my ability to do invoice consolidations?
