Convert String to date in saved search

Hi, Experts,

Here 1 question in saved searches,

lotnumber is string (example: WSA-20231025-20211025) , 20231025 is the product expired date which is 25-10-2023 and 20211025 is our produced date, we need to compare the production date with current date for the stock aging report in saved searches.

Formula(date)

TO_DATE(REGEXP_SUBSTR({lotnumber},'[^-]+$'),'YYYYMMDD')

Result:

ERROR: Invalid Expression


Any help would be greatly appreciated.
